For each song in our system, there are several steps to accomplish. Here we discuss the five major stages a song goes through. There are variations for each step, depending on the software used. But these basics never change.

Use two screens to make song development easier. Below is a photo of James Pitt-Payne’s gear. He displays the sheet music on an iPad tablet in the front. To the right there is a desktop computer running Windows. On the wider screen you see the staff view of Cakewalk, a tried-and-true DAW. You also see a mouse for dragging the notes into their places. The song is from the Disney film Snow White.
Sing With Us
We want you to sing from sheet music. Help us demonstrate our collection. You don’t need to be a professionally trained singer. Just sing and send your mp3 to screamnj@msn.com. That way we can cover lots more songs. There are plenty more where these came from.
We have a video for Mac users and one for Windows showing how to record. There are a hundred ways to do it. You can probably find your own way. The blue Yeti mic is good (and cheap). Or you can use a lapel mic. Singing along through headphones works best for this.
