I’ve Got A Little Love Song

An unpublished manuscript from 1929
Words by Jack Yellen
Music by Milton Ager

The sheet music:

Lyrics

When a chap’s in love he does some funny things
He writes poetic rot for which he could be shot
Or composes songs that no one hears or sings
That is if he happens to be a foolish fellow like me
For

Chorus:
I’ve put together some music
As I’ve rhymed “true” and “you”
Now I’ve got a little love song
I’ve no one to sing it to
I’ve done as Berlin and Gershwin
And other writers do
Now I’ve got a little love song
But no one to sing it to
What if it is a hit and sells a million or more
If it is not a hit with someone I wrote it for?
And as I say in the chorus
I’m feeling sad and blue
‘Cause I’ve got a little love song
But no one to sing it to
